Abstract

PROBLEM: The approach to social research requires the immersion of complex systems, which more than reduce the elements of a problem; As scientific research does, it allows the integration of more complex and profound elements to generate proposals and solutions appropriate to the context where they are developed. OBJECTIVE: To reflect on the importance of complexity in social research. METHOD: The technique used was documentary research. RESULTS: The complexity contains different elements that connected to each other will contribute to give a deep explanation to a phenomenon, main and interesting interpretations; however, not every phenomenon can be approached from complexity, since it must meet a series of characters. UNFINISHED REFLECTION: Research in education that involves social problems must consider integrating complexity to avoid a blinded reductionist vision. With this, deepen the phenomena from the perspective of the various disciplines so that the approach and proposed solution is broad and enriching for society and knowledge.

Author Biography

Edvin Méndez, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala

He is currently studying a Doctorate in Education Research. He has obtained a Master's Degree in University Teaching; Graduate in teaching Spanish Language and Literature; Secondary education teacher in Language and Literature; with a middle-level teaching career of 17 years and teaching at a Higher Level.
