Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To present a brief reflection on human knowledge and the changes it has undergone as it evolves into more complex aspects. METHOD: Documentary exploration of the works "El Octavo Saber" by Edgar Morin; "Los Siete Saberes Necesarios para la Educación del Futuro," also by the same author; and "Sistemas Complejos" by Tarride, which served as the basis for the ideas presented. RESULTS: The main reflections presented begin with a dialogue on the universality of knowledge and its undeniable link with life in general. There is a parallel between human evolution and the changes in society's need for knowledge as it grows. The larger and more complex human existence becomes, the more necessary it is to analyze how we transmit knowledge to future generations. Knowledge has a validity period, and it is imperative that society reflects on the needs that the future will bring, in order to know what to educate the current generation on. CONCLUSIONS: Current education must be complemented with a more open and integrative perspective.
