Abstract

PROBLEM: It is important to approach the issue of university higher education from the perspective of complexity, to establish better scenarios and approach it from a better multidisciplinary perspective, obtaining optimal long-term results. OBJECTIVE: Describe the importance of complexity within university higher education, including multidisciplinarity to improve university teaching. METHOD: Possible scenarios within university higher education are described implementing the complexity approach, including the importance of multidisciplinarity and student autonomy in their learning. RESULTS: A better approach to university teaching for students, including the complexity in the educational process and the responsibility of the student in their learning. UNFINISHED REFLECTION: Complexity is the solution in university higher education, to provide the student with better multidisciplinary skills that will allow them to be successful in a changing world like the current one.

Author Biography

Edvin Méndez, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala

She has a degree in Dental Surgery. Master in Higher University Education. Doctor in Philosophy and Sociology of Religion. Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, she is currently studying the Doctorate in Research in Education at the CUNORI University Center of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala.
